May every sunrise hold more promise, and every sunset hold more peace. – An Ancient Blessing
I shared this old relationship acronym with a client this week. It is really helpful. Tried and true it has been around for ages. I use it myself and I want to share it with you today. It can’t hurt for all of us to be on the same page!
Ya know, you can take on all sorts of complicated religious and philosophical beliefs but nothing will never take you as far spiritually as kindness and gratitude. Kindness and gratitude are a marriage made in Heaven.
We may or may not be here on Earth to achieve great things. I’m convinced we are meant to shine like the very stardust we are made of. Far beyond the thrill of capturing our dreams there is something greater to aspire to. Our ability to be kind, thoughtful, and gracious is where we really need to set up house.
Aside from our actions; what we say and how we say it will ultimately determine who we are.
Before I speak I try to run the rules of this acronym quickly in my mind as a check list. It helps me to be kind when I am not really feeling so inclined. It forces me to be gracious when I am anything but grateful. In other words it puts a lid on a steaming pot of judgment and anger just when you really need it. Before you open your mouth and spew…
Ask yourself if what you are about to say is worthy of your Highest Self?
T-H-I-N-K.
T – Is it True? (I often replace this with – Is it thoughtful?)
H – Is it Helpful?
I – Is it Inspiring?
N – Is it Necessary?
K – Is it Kind?
Am I always able to adhere to the Think System? Absolutely not! Gosh, “Woman At Work” here people. I mouth off far more often than I should. I do know this: kindness is in a direct and very personal relationship with gratitude.
It is difficult to be grateful for everything. The joy and the sorrow. Relationships bring this stuff to the table everyday. I don’t think any of us want to lash out at the universe ( or our families ) just because we are having a bad day. But we do. We do it a lot.
We do it a lot and it must stop.
We are encouraged to express our feelings these days. That’s fine.
I just feel better when I know I have expressed myself in a kind way.
It just takes a few seconds to THINK first.
*For all those in the Friday’s Child Circle Of Prayer and for all those in need. We send… Love, Light and Oceans of Bliss for the Highest Good of all. And so it is.
Have a sweet one!
