‘Tis The Season
There are many joys that come with giving. Freedom from lack. Ease. Happiness. Friendship.
We revel in feelings of abundance and prosperity.
This is however not true for everyone.
How needy you are will determine your capacity for genuine giving. If you are not used to healthy, harmonic relationships. If you can only give and not receive. If you can not accept even a mild degree of conflict. Houston, we have a problem.
Only relationships that curry mutual respect are worth committing to… giving to.
But we can’t do that with one foot in a painful past and the other in the transforming present.
We can only offer this kind of generosity when we are certain all is well. Regardless of evidence to the contrary.
When we live in The Eternal Now we know that all is well. We know we can give and not suffer because of it. There is a sense that there is more where this came from. The gift of compassion can transform pain into joy.
Compassion starts with you and the compassion you show yourself.
How well do you accept life’s little inequities? With an open heart or the broken heart of a child? When you can accept those life lessons you are ready to be generous.
Not just in the season of giving but all year-round.
Have a sweet one!
