Where Is The Love?
It is the day after Christmas. Where is the love? We’re feelin’ like the lyrics of an old country tune. Something about the morning after comin’ down, lost in Laredo (or Van Nuys) and wishin’ you were still in Texas with your exes. In life there will always be a main event. There will always be a day after.
This week it is Christmas. Next month it may be a milestone birthday for your Dad. Your daughter’s wedding in June. The end of a ten-year marriage. The plane ride home after the on-again-off-again Tuscan affair. My feeling is that day afters are a combination of; is that all there is and is it gone forever blues.
Shopping, wrapping, cooking, baking, putting up trees and lights. Fond memory creating moments we looked forward to for weeks is now done. Was it a waste of precious time and frequent flyer miles to be with your beloved just because it is all over now? Is anyone a better person because you loved them?
Are you a better person because you dared to care?
It matters little what or whom you give your love to. An A-list New Year’s Eve gig you’ve rehearsed for since Thanksgiving. A relationship you thought would last a lifetime. Or the family reunion at your house for the winter holiday’s. When you give 100% of your heart to anything a “let down” is inevitable when it is over.
We will always ask the question – where did the love go?
It is the day after. Never an easy day for anyone.
And the love?
The love remains forever.
Sending Love, Light and Oceans of Bliss for the Highest Good of All.
And so it is!
