The Only Way Out
I have come to believe that our quality of life is largely dependent upon our inner navigational skills. What goes on ”out there” will never be as important as what is going on ”in here.” We pull focus all day long because out there is where the action is. The drama, the dharma, and the dumb talking heads on Fox News amusing and entertaining us as we live.
Going within requires being still, receiving, holding on to what you’ve got. If you are a runner it won’t be easy to break your stride. Unless you have a daily practice of silence you are devoted to – out there will continue to be a siren call that cannot be ignored. In order to be at peace and escape the madness we must shift focus and sail the ship inward. You will be amazed at just how easy even rough waters are to navigate from this perspective.
The world outside of ourselves is constantly changing. One day insanity rules the next day everything seems to be making sense. To live in a constant state of reaction to what is mutable is chaos is cray beyond cray. What will never change is our sense of inner peace once we find it. Inner peaces is the un-rockable boat that responds rather than reacts to everything going on outside. And it responds from a place of true knowing.
We make the decision to have a peaceful beautiful life by turning away from insanity and running to rather than away from our truth, our peace, and the quiet answers we need to hear to the questions we have yet to ask.
It’s a beautiful thing baby.
