The world was never meant to be paradise. God has created a world that is meant to drive you back to God.  –  Shaykh Hamza Yusuf

I know the Shaykh Yusuf statement is true. It is just hard to believe as I look out of my cottage window at the Ocean to write this blog. The majestic amaranthine perse over tones of today’s silver flavored sea is something to behold. As the sun descends the water will reflect a mesmerizing diamond sparkle that brings joy and a sense of lightness to my being. I don’t know why. I don’t care why. I grab every drop of joy I can attract and I am glad of it.

A blithe spirit is not all that easy to come by these days.

The political climate is oppressive.

The cost of living is depressive.

A veracious being is the rare article.

Optimism is a chronic condition. It is prized in our culture. You may feel ashamed when you cannot muster it up on demand. Grasshopper, optimism requires faith. Faith comes and goes. It is not something we manufacture. Faith is something we accept.

Here’s the thing. It’s crazy out there. That’s part of the plan.

The plan to keep driving us back home where we belong. Back to the Original Heart. To Love. To God. To Goddess. To Oneness. To Light. Whatever you call it we need to routinely return to its embrace. Paradise doesn’t always take us there. The Pain Train is a sure bet. It’s complicated.

Friedrich Nietzsche said; ‘ You need chaos in your soul to give birth to a dancing start.’

I say; The pain of awakening never really ends.

Sending Love, Light & Oceans of Bliss …
