Life is short, and I’ve shortened mine in a thousand delicious, ill-advised ways. ~Maggie Smith
In my life I have enjoyed more day-gigs than Cher has had goodbye tours. It just worked out that way.
I started singing at parties and such at the ripe old age of 12 going on 35. I spent money singing. It took me half of forever to gather enough clients to Read for to feel comfortable enough to let go of the incidental paycheck. I’ve had every pot boiling gig you might think of. Everything from folding tee-shirts in a garage. Making up models for photo shoots. Being a Personal Assistant for the young, gifted, and ungrateful of Hollywood. Plus.
One of my favorite day-gigs was helping realtors stage houses for sale. The design goal was to make the place look about as lived in as a one month stay at a residential hotel suite. No more. No less. Just enough character to show off the good bones of the place be it a beauty or a dump. I learned a lot during my stretch as a designing woman.
