“We shall go wild with fireworks…And they will plunge into the sky and shatter the darkness. We don’t have any fireworks that big” – Natsuki Takaya
I went to my first 4th of July celebration here in Iowa last night.
Had a birds eye view from a clearing by a lake and they were most enjoyable. Admittedly, the experience could have been enhanced by some John Philip Sousa. I’ll bring my boom box next time. A really creative fireworks display is one of my favorite things on earth.
The best offering I have ever seen was in Japan during Star Festival ( Tanabata.) The sky-bursting glory went on for over three hours in honor of the legend of Orihime and Hikoboshi. O & H being ancient star crossed lovers separated eternally by the Milky Way as decreed by Emperor Tentei ( O’s Daddy). Since way back in the day (6th century) these crazy kids have only been allowed to see each other once a year. They meet on the seventh day of the seventh month for a few hours.
Certainly cause for some celebratory fireworks!
Most of us have experienced the pain of being separated from true love. It doesn’t have to be a person. It can be your favorite place on earth. Your ability to thrive. Your prosperity. Your art. Your gifts. A set of circumstances are in play and you find yourself feeling disconnected from your source. You’re convinced that a river of negotiations will never reunite you.
The truth is if we would just focus our energy and act upon our desire more than once a year we will naturally reconnect. It’s like dialing the phone number of someone you really must speak to now and receiving a busy signal. What do you do? You dial the number over and over until someone picks up. You don’t take busy for an answer you connect! I feel we take the busy signals of life as a “no” too often. Where’s all of our spunk and gumption? Gone the way of our 401 K’s?
Look, a separation is not a divorce.
Until someone says the D word out loud ( death, divorce, diabetes, don’t… ) there’s always a chance of reconciliation. Do not despair. Keep dialing up until you make the connection. Then create a reality worthy of a three hour fireworks display. It’s going to be worth it ya know?
It’s a love story for petesake. Go for it!
Have a sweet one!
